The Ultimate Low carb burger

Sorry no pictures at this point as I can't find them but we have had this several times and it feels like such a treat and certainly is soooooo much better than a McDonalds and is really not that hard.

So what can you have in your Ultimate Low Carb burger?

Well to start with a quality burger, check the labels as some have 0g carbs and some 10g! That means padded out with breadcrumbs. We love the Scottish butchers burgers (over the counter) in Tesco, £1 each for a large burger but they are really nice.

Cheese is a must have for me, cheddar is a staple for us and it normally goes on a few minutes before the burgers are done so it gets nice and melted before serving. Katie likes gherkin so normally has some of that on there as well.

Bacon, lets face it this is not a surprise. On our diet bacon is another staple and something that we always have around the house. So we normally fry a little off with some onion. Onion you need to be careful but at around 9g in 100g you are looking at a couple of grams for 1/2 an onion. As you can see this burger is already starting to stack up.

Next if you like a bit of spice is some chorizo or pepperoni, fry a few slices for a few seconds and then stick on the burger.

Finally if you are in the mood then I would fry an egg and put it on top as well (Ok so you either need 5 frying pans or be willing to clean it several times). So my burger or sometimes double burger would be something like the following:

Egg
Pepperoni
Mayo
Bacon
Onion
Cheese
Burger

So there is not a huge amount there but for a burger on a low carb diet it is pretty awesome.
