As I have discussed in a previous post if you cheat on a low carb diet it comes back to haunt you. It is not like a lot of other diets where you can think to yourself a doughnut won't hurt today and then it all spirals out of control very quickly and you end up putting on more weight than you have lost. Certainly happened to me anyway.
So here are some of the treats that we have had on this diet to keep us going, of course we only had them in moderation:
Sugar Free Jelly - Great if sweeteners work don't impact your insulin levels too much and jelly seemed to be ok for both Katie and I. We have this occasionally and sometimes with...
Double Cream - If you like cream whip it up and off you go, loads of fat and no carbs. Don't go too mad but can make you feel like you are having a great treat.
Dark Chocolate - Look for the really high percentage stuff, must admit it is not to my liking but in small quantities it can really help.
Hot Chocolate - Katie loved this, made with cocoa powder and sweetener it was low in carbs but hit the spot.
Steak and Salad - Fancy going to a restaurant, now you have an excuse to get the most expensive thing on the menu, even better if you can get someone else to pay.
Kebab - You have to be careful with this, especially if it is take-away, ideally just go for chicken otherwise you might regret it. Personally with the summer more or less here I prefer...
Nuts - Nuts are a great snack to have on the go but I would be careful and ration yourself. Whilst nuts are fairly low in carb they are also very tasty and you just want more. They also contain a lot of calories (have lots of energy). Peanuts and almonds are best for carb levels while cashews are a bit higher.

A BBQ - Really this doesn't have to be a treat but I think it is. Stick some burgers, sausages, chicken and chops on the BBQ and enjoy. The reason I put this as a treat is because I tend to eat more than I should, it doesn't matter too much on this diet as the weight still seemed to come off but it was unnecessary.
I am sure there are many more and feel free to tell me to add some if there is something you would like added. The above list is proper low-carb treats, there are some others which I will try to dig out that are not quite so low carb but are still "on plan" but a bit more indulgent.
